I solved most of those problems by camping in the winter, but for most people, camping season is just beginning. Check out some of the books Helen Hall has to offer about camping:
Camper’s Guide to U. S. National Parks (796.54 M831c vol. 1 & 2)
Camping for Dummies (796.54 H691c 2000)
Camping in Comfort: A Guide to Roughing It with Ease and Style (796.54 H237c 2007)
Eating Hearty in the Wilderness with Absolutely No Clean Up : A Backpacker's Guide to Good Food and "Leave No Trace Camping!" (641.578 K92e)
Let's Get Primitive: The Urban Girl's Guide to Camping (796.54082 M545L 2007)
Stressing and Unstressing in a Tent (796.54 B967s)
