The Bride's Farewell, by Meg Rosoff

This was the first Meg Rosoff book i had read since How I Live Now. and I guess the subject matter/genre being so different had me setting my expectations really low for some reason. I see now that this was dumb! She won a Printz, after all!

I wanted it to be longer! What did other people think? (for every comment posted here, Online Book Club participants earn five points!)

Emily's Ghost, by Denise Giardina

During the Online Book Club Kickoff Event this past Saturday, Emily's Ghost was the title I gave to anyone who asked what I recommended. I was so fascinated by imagining what Emily Bronte was like in real life, and saddened to realize how much was lost when Anne became responsible for her family's legacy. However, I now feel that I should do some research about Anne, to see if it is likely that she was really as prissy, petty, and sanctimonious as she's written here. What did other people think?
